Church Planting Workshop in Belarus

Stefan Hänsch (ICF Berlin), Jiri Zdrahal (ICF Prag) und ich reisten Samstagmorgen früh nach Minsk um dort einen Church-Planting-Workshop zu machen. Stefan ist in Ost-Berlin mit russisch aufgewachsen und hat seit Jahren Ost-Europa auf seinem Herzen. Jiri hat in einem post kommunistischen Land ein ICF gegründet und kann darum die Situation der Menschen in Belarus gut einschätzen und verstehen.
Es war weit unter null, als wir im verschneiten Minsk empfangen wurden. Gleich ging's los. 40 Leute warteten in einem großen Privathaus schon gespannt auf unsere Ankunft. Nach dem 2  Leute ihren Erlebnissen von der Reise nach Zürich erzählt hatten fuhr Jiri fort und beschrieb die Gründung des ICF's in Prag. Als er fertig war, wurde bis in die Nacht hinein gesungen und getanzt. Ich war total überwältigt von dieser positiven Lebensfreude der belarussischen Menschen. Am Sonntagmorgen versammelten sich 60 Leute und hörten Stefan, Jiri und mir zu wie wir ICF und unsere Sicht der Kirche beschrieben. Tatsache ist, dass es in Belarus definitiv neue Kirchen braucht, welche die Jugend von heute anspricht. Im Moment gibt es ein ICF Team in Gomel. Das Interesse nach neuen wegen ist groß. Ich bin überzeugt, dass sich in den nächsten Jahren dort Türen öffnen werden.
Bete mit uns, dass wir für junge Leiter finden die wir fördern können. 

Stefan Hänsch (ICF Berlin), Jiri Zdrahal (ICF Prague) and I traveled early Saturday morning to Minsk to do a church-planting workshop. Stefan grew up with the Russian language in East Berlin and has a heart for east Europe. Jiri has started an ICF church in a post-communist country (Czech Republic) and knows the situation the people are in very well.
It was well below zero when we arrived in Minsk. We were driven to a house where 40 people where waiting for us. After two people shared experiences form the trip to the ICF Zurich last week Jiri told the story about the church plant in Prague. After he was finished the musicians began to play. We found ourselves dancing and singing till late that night. I am very impressed by the joyful spirit of the Belarusians. Sunday morning 60 people stuffed themselves in the living room where we where meeting. Stefan, Jiri and I talked about ICF and our view of a church at the heartbeat of time. Fact: Belarus is a country that needs a new kind of church that is attractive for the young generation. Now there is an ICF Team in Gomel. The interest in ICF church planting is good. I am convinced that door will open in the next few years. Pray with us, that young leaders will step up and take on the challenge to start something new.
